Weighted D20 Dice - Large Novelty Dice for D&D, Pathfinder, Board Games
Weighted D20 Dice - Large Novelty Dice for D&D, Pathfinder, Board Games
Warning: These dice are not fair!
Want to skew the odds for (or against!) your party, while still keeping the element of chance? Perhaps a new way to play out advantage or disadvantage; to reward a well-executed plan or to punish a poor one. Whatever the reason for lucky or doomed circumstances, these dice allow you to influence fate's hand.
Features:
- Loaded die - "Lucky" favours high numbers, "Cursed" favours low numbers
- Extra large novelty size (4cm diameter, 2.4x larger than normal D20)
- Fully normal D20 dice shape - Weighting is all done internally in the print
- Clever layout of numbers means you still get close to the targeted number even if you don't land it exactly
- Plus or Star symbol to indicate the favoured side
- Style 1: "Plus" for a significant bias (please see chart)
- Style 2: "Star" for maximum possible bias (please see chart)
Notes on Weighted Dice and Rolling Tips
- Though the dice are weighted, there is still always a chance to roll the natural opposite
- We have provided a probability distribution based on actual recording of weighted dice rolls on felt
- The surface you roll on will significantly alter the ability of the dice to shift to the weighted side. We recommend a soft surface such as felt as it will have the most effect from the weighting. A hard or slippery surface will reduce the effect from weighting. Different rolling methods or rolling into objects will also change the effect - for greatest effect try for a long tumbling roll.
- Please check the distribution tables before choosing your dice!
- Note that the "Star" dice with its extreme weighting means that the 1 outcome (which is opposite side to 20) is actually more likely than 2 to 4 and even 5 to 10. The physics behind this is because it's easier to balance the extra weight if it's on top, than on the side, because the side will want to keep rolling over until it's on the bottom.
- These dice are 3D-printed. Compared to typical mold-cast dice which cannot be weighted, they will be rougher and look less refined. Please examine the photos carefully to get an idea of what to expect.
The dice are 3D printed in environmentally-friendly and non-toxic PLA. Due to 3D-printing process, it is normal to have visible layer lines and roughness in the product. Please avoid heat sources or prolonged exposure to direct sunlight as they can damage the item. We proudly designed and created this Zenpy Product in Australia.
